In September 2024 the Government announced it would legislate a total ban on genetic discrimination in life insurance, in this Parliamentary term: https://ministers.treasury.gov.au/ministers/stephen-jones-2022/transcripts/doorstop-interview-parliament-house-canberra-8

In November 2024, Kylea Tink MP asked the Minister in QT for an update on progress towards introducing this legislation. It now looks like the legislation might not be introduced before the Federal election. This is so disappointing, but there is still a chance to ask the government to address this urgently!
